Drivers

As a driver for Eugene Pedicab, you are in business for yourself.  You should have business cards promoting your business.

Drivers must be able to pull 500-600 lbs for approximately 6-8 hours.  The weather can change quickly in the Northwest, so be prepared for inclement weather.  Bring plenty of fluids and calories if you need them.

As an independent contractor, you must be self-motivated, energetic and punctual.  This will increase your profitability.  People in the service industry are most successful when they have a great attitude, which only adds value to the customer’s experience.  I have found it helps getting people to ride by dressing up.  This can be whatever you are comfortable with.  A top hat and bowtie works well for me, but create a character you are comfortable with.  Some people will need coaxing to get on the pedicab, so be prepared with some good one liners.  I use, “Save your feet and take a seat.”  “Why stroll when you can roll.”  You will hear, “No thanks.  We need the exercise.”  My response to that is, “That’s what my wife told me.  Come on, when was the last time you took a pedicab ride?”  (Like…never).  The bottom line is when they see you are having fun, they will want to participate.

If you have what it takes to be a pedicab driver, give me a call or send an e-mail and we can chat.
